  • Welcome to Johnny V’s! Is this your first time here? Either way, you are in for a great meal! Johnny V’s is a true southern Texas smokehouse in the heart of Mid-Michigan. As our guest, you will experience food that is only of the highest quality and service and hospitality that will make you feel as though you are right at home in the south.

    Whether you’re here for a special occasion or just for a great meal, we want you to have a wonderful experience. Our staff is trained to take ownership of every plate that comes out of our kitchen and present it as though they were presenting it to a friend or family member. At Johnny V’s, all of our guests are our friends and family!

    Your BBQ journey begins from the moment you walk in the door. You will be quickly greeted and seated by a friendly face that is eager to serve you. Not sure what you want to eat? That’s ok! Our wait staff is very knowledgeable about our menu and techniques and can make recommendations based on your preferences or even your mood. At Johnny V’s, we believe in quality which means we only buy the best product and in turn, offer only the best to our guests. Everything is made from scratch! It starts with our salads that are cut fresh every day. Our first cut is just before we open. Our second cut is 4pm and our last cut of the day is at 8pm when each salad is cut to order. If we take that kind of care to our salads, imagine what we do with the 3 smokers out back! We bake our biscuits and muffins fresh every morning. Our French fries are made in-house with 8 seasonings so secret if we told you, we’d have to kill  you…..with kindness of course! All of our sauces are made in-house. Our burgers are a proprietary blend of short rib, brisket, and chuck, cooked to order and finished off to taste like you’re eating an 8oz steak. The buns are flown in fresh from Le Bus Bakery in Pennsylvania and are usually reserved for high-end restaurants. Although we don’t consider ourselves to be “high-end,” we treat our food like we are. Our steaks are Certified Angus Beef that are fresh, never frozen, cut in house then seasoned and grilled to perfection. Our salmon is caught in the deep cold waters off the Bay of Fundy and is flown in fresh on ice. We slab it off the skin in-house and present it to you blackened over a bed of risotto. Our famous adult Mac-n-Cheese is made with heavy cream and real butter as Mac-n-Cheese should be, then finished with a house made smoked gouda sauce. It’s absolutely remarkable!

    Now, to the real reason you came…the smoke! At Johnny V’s we know the smoke starts with the wood. We use a combination of apple, cherry, and hickory that is all locally sourced. We smoke 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our brisket is smoked 18-20 hours a day and served moist, tender, and succulent. It will make you feel like you’re in the heart of Texas. Our ribs are so fresh that the pig isn’t even slaughtered until we place the order. They are rubbed with our house made rub, then smoked for 4-5 hours making them fall off the bone delicious! Our guests tell us that they are tender to the touch and to the taste. Our pulled pork is smoked for 16-18 hours and is one of our top sellers. I bet you’re hungry now…
